Kakak ipar Chen mengaku salah
TAIPEI: Kakak ipar mantan Presiden Taiwan, Encik Chen Shui-bian, mengaku bersalah atas tuduhan pemindahan wang haram dalam perkembangan terbaru kes rasuah yang turut melibatkan Encik Chen. Chen Chun-ying merupakan anggota keluarga Encik Chen yang keempat yang telah mengaku bersalah sejauh ini. -- AFP.
Korban jangkitan anjing gila
JAKARTA: Seorang warga Indonesia meninggal dunia ekoran jangkitan anjing gila selang dua bulan digigit seekor anjing di pulau peranginan Bali.
Para pelancong dinasihatkan agar tidak panik kerana keadaan kini terkawal. Pihak berkuasa telah membunuh 1,500 anjing liar di pulau itu sejauh ini. -- AP.
Ribuan terkandas akibat banjir

Kes Anwar: Prosiding ditangguh
KUALA LUMPUR: Mahkamah Tinggi yang sepatutnya mendengar permohonan semakan pihak pendakwa untuk memindahkan perbicaraan kes liwat yang dihadapi Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, semalam terpaksa menangguhkan prosiding kepada 25 Februari ini.
Hakim Datuk Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah membuat penangguhan setelah peguam bela Datuk Seri Anwar mengemukakan notis bantahan supaya Timbalan Kanan Pendakwa Raya, Datuk Mohd Yusof Zainal Abiden, digugurkan daripada mengetuai pasukan pendakwaan.
Ini kerana Datuk Mohd Yusof adalah pegawai dari Pejabat Peguam Negara yang terbabit dalam Suruhanjaya Siasatan berhubung insiden mata lebam Datuk Seri Anwar pada 1998. -- BHM.
Mahu mantan MB Selangor mohon maaf
KUALA LUMPUR: Menteri Besar Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, melalui peguamnya, Tetuan S N Nair & Partners, kelmarin meminta Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo memohon maaf dan menarik balik dakwaan dilemparkan ke atasnya.
Mantan Menteri Besar Selangor itu didakwa membuat dakwaan ke atas Tan Sri Abdul Khalid berhubung isu kereta Lexus dan 46 lembu korban Aidiladha, Disember lalu.
Kenyataan itu didakwa berbaur hasutan.
Tan Sri Abdul Khalid menegaskan dakwaan itu tidak benar dan mampu mengemukakan bukti bagi menyangkalnya. -- BHM.

She is a Director and major shareholder of Generasi Setia (M) Sdn Bhd, which is a major shareholder of Gamuda. Her directorships in other public companies are with KAF-Seagroatt & Campbell Holdings Berhad and Danau Permai Resort Berhad.
Eleena Azlan Shah was named in May 2007 as Malaysia’s 25th richest in the country with assets worth over US$228 million (MYR 773 million). She becomes the list’s second woman after Chong Chook Yew who occupies number 18th with US$320 million (MYR 1.085 billion). Her wealth comes from her being the largest individual shareholder in construction firm Gamuda.
Eleena’s stock took a beating in the past 18 months. She was ranked number 35 richest woman in 2008.
